EKO CLEAR NEW – CASE STUDY

There is no magical purge which solves all your cleaning problems from simple PE to high temperature Polysulphone.

At EKO PLASTIC we develop new purges when one of two things happen with our

Customers;

  1. a) they divulge to us the need to solve a new purging problem or
  2. b) that the existing purging products do not satisfy their cleaning needs.

Eko Clear New was developed because of the need to improve on Purging technologies that exist already in the plastic industry.

A big injection customer from the north of Israel discussed with us his various cleaning problems, the biggest problem being to change over from ABS black to GPPS clear. Besides having to use large volumes of purge to clean out the ABS completely from the machine it also took several hours of producing sub standard

GPPS clear products that had a milky haze in it.

Eko Clear New is based on mechanical abrasive carrier which is stable at high working temperatures of 200-360c it has a wide use from PE to high temperature

materials; Polysulphane & Ultam, an important cleaning point is that it does not leave

hazy clouds in glass clear products such as PC, GPPS & PMMA.

The first test was for black ABS to GPPS clear.

The injection machine was  650 ton 120mm . The working temperatures were not changed. The whole cleaning process took 10 kg of EKO Clear New, 35 minutes down time & 20 rejects until the new product was being produced.

The whole process saved our customer 6-7 hours of lost production & resin.

The purge is now being tested in flat die extrusion blow molding & in the pipe industry for difficult purging problems with large diameter thick walls color changing.
